About Us

Cornwall Electric Company opened in 1946 by Charlie Hepprich and has been located in Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut, ever since. In 1986, the company was purchased by Brent and Barbara Prindle and Mark and Alicia North. Cornwall Electric offered electrical and plumbing contracting services along with major appliance sales and service. During this time, Cornwall Electric started selling and installing Kohler Power Systems. They became one of the first companies to earn authorization from Kohler to be a dealer.

Ray Conti, owner of Cornwall Electric Company LLC, since October 2007, graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in 1982 and started working for Cornwall Electric in 1990 as an electrical contractor. Over the years, he managed numerous residential construction projects and renovations, helped customers with their lighting design, and figured thousands of solutions to perplexing, difficult and even sometimes weird electrical situations. Soon after becoming employed by CE, he received training from Kohler Power Systems to become authorized in sales, installations and service for their generators. He has installed and serviced many in the Litchfield County area over the years. He still employs Nick DiMichele, an electrical contractor, who has been working for Cornwall Electric since 1992, and.hired his wife of 25 years, Terri, to manage the office. We have been proud to help the Town of Cornwall light their 70-foot town green Christmas Tree with solar power since 2012. In 2014, it was the tallest live solar-powered tree in the country.

The reason we sell and service only Kohler brand power systems? Kohler began manufacturing generators in 1920 and we trust their product to be the most efficient and reliable. The oldest Kohler generator still running today (and there are several of these out there) is a 5.5KW from 1955. Kohler is a privately-owned company run by a family whose descendant is the founder. Best of all---their products are made in the USA. We also believe in using the best electrical materials from trusted manufacturers available to us, such as Leviton, Lightolier, Allied, Nutone, Kichler, RAB and Hi-Lite, to name a few.
